Oh dear, Mr Trump flew from west to east for the G7 Summit, known amongst travellers as the worst way to fly around the Earth. It gives you bad jetlag. East to West is more congenial. However he has just flown east again to Singapore.
Mr Trump’s jetlagged first leg made him show boorish behaviour. A breakfast had G7 leaders lining up to speak to him, regrettably. Maybe they should have taken less notice of him. He has not hesitated to clobber the G7 countries with import tariffs.
Such behaviour will not be tolerated in Singapore. Give the President some sleep! It is imperative that he becomes a Statesman when meeting Eastern Presidents, Mr Kim Jong Un of North Korea, Mr Moon Jae-In of South Korea and Mr Shinzo Abe, Japan’s longest serving post War (2nd World War) Prime Minister. All have shown great statesmanship during the last few months to facilitate this Summit.
It is now for Mr Trump to step towards a happier relationship. It is not about America the power; we all know that. Now we would be grateful if Mr Trump would declare world peace, at least in this part of south-east Asia. Be generous on sanctions;it is always remembered.
